Cinematic Artist (Project Hire)

We’re looking for a skilled and collaborative Cinematic Artist to join our team and help bring story-driven moments to life in a narrative-rich AAA game with one of our partners. As a Cinematic Artist, you’ll be responsible for crafting high-quality in-engine cinematics using Unreal Engine, working closely with animation, narrative, audio, and design teams to create emotionally resonant scenes that elevate the player experience.

 Top Responsibilities:

  1. Create and implement cinematic sequences
    • Use Unreal Engine’s Sequencer to build, polish, and maintain cinematic content—from blocking to final camera polish.
  2. Collaborate across departments
    • Work closely with animation, VO, lighting, SFX, VFX, and narrative to ensure cinematics are cohesive, immersive, and technically sound.
  3. Cinematic staging and composition
    • Apply strong visual storytelling principles through thoughtful camera work, character staging, and rhythm/timing.
  4. Maintain scene quality and performance
    • Optimize sequences for performance, fix technical issues, and ensure compatibility with evolving game systems and pipelines.
  5. Own and iterate on feedback
    • Proactively respond to feedback from Directors and Leads, contributing creatively and technically to cinematic goals throughout development.
 Required Skills:
  • 4 years in game development, with at least 2 years of experience as a ciinematic artist or cinematic designer on a shipped game
  • Knowledge of Unreal Sequencer 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated self-starter who asks for help when needed
