Embedded QA Tester
We are looking for an experienced Embedded QA Tester to join our team supporting a partner project. As an Embedded QA Tester, you will work alongside developers, artists, and designers to ensure an exceptional player experience on a hit franchise with over 10 million players worldwide. Embedded testers take direction from studio QA leaders up to and including the Director of Production.

As an Embedded QA Tester, you will work alongside developers, artists, and designers to ensure an exceptional player experience on a hit franchise with over 10 million players worldwide. Embedded testers take direction from studio QA leaders up to and including the Director of Production.
This is an in-office role located in Champaign, Illinois or Seattle, WA
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with development teams to test features at every stage - from prototype to final release.
- Design, execute, and maintain test plans and cases for gameplay, systems, UI, performance, and platform compliance.
- Identify, reproduce, and document bugs using internal tracking tool (JIRA)
- Provide real-time feedback on new features, ensuring alignment with design goals.
- Work with QA leadership to prioritize issues and perform risk analysis on new builds.
- Support CI workflows with smoke testing and regression passes.
- Participate in daily standups, sprint reviews, and feature reviews.
- Advocate for quality and the player experience throughout development
- Help foster a strong playtesting culture across the team.
- 2+ years of QA experience in the games industry, with at least one shipped AAA title.
- Strong understanding of software development cycles and agile workflows.
- Excellent communication skills across cross-functional teams.
- Solid problem-solving skills, especially with difficult-to-reproduce issues.
- Passion for video games and a deep understanding of what makes them fun, polished, and accessible.
- Proficient in bug tracking tools (JIRA)
- Experience in embedded or integration QA roles.
- Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Scripting or automation knowledge.
- Understand of platform-specific certification requirements.
- Background in multiplayer or live service game testing.
- Experience testing large-scale open-world games.
